Next Steps

Welcome

First Southern Baptist Church of Chino Valley is a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. We want you to have a clear understand of what your next step in life is. That next step may be just connecting with our church or it may be making a life changing decision for God. Our Next step process will help you learn more about our church and how to grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ. 

What are the next steps

Step One / Connect

In step one we want to get to know you and we want you to get to know us. We ask you to fill out a NEXT STEP card at our next step table in the foyer, if you are visiting in person. If you are visiting online we ask you fill out the next step card at the bottom of this page. Next, someone from the church will set up a meeting time with you at your convince through various formats such as, phone, zoom, or in person. We have a few questions to learn more about you and then explain your NEXT STEP in our process. 

Step Two / NEXT STEP Class

After someone meets with you they will schedule your NEXT STEP class. This is a one day 3 hour class held at the church on the last Sunday of the month.
Session 1 (Know Jesus) is at 9:00am
Session 2 (Love Our Neighbors) is at 10:15am
Break for lunch (provided)
Session 3 (Share Jesus) 1:00pm

Step Three / Covenant 

At the completion of the NEXT STEP class you will be asked to sign a church covenant. This covenant affirms that you are in agreement with the theology and beliefs of the church and that you are committed to following Jesus Christ in your personal life.  

Step Four / Discipleship / Small Group

After you have signed the church covenant you will move on to the discipleship class if you have not went through a discipleship process before. This class will go deeper into the structure that you experienced in the NEXT STEP CLASS.

Love our Neighbors (Missions)
Share Jesus (Evangelism)
If you feel that you do not need a discipleship class then you will move into a small group study and continue your growth through a focused Bible study. 

Step Five / Mobilization

Mobilization is the NEXT STEP in serving the church with the talents and abilities that God has gifted you with specifically. We encourage you to work through this process in order to find a place of service that God is calling you to.
