Principles of CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
First Southern Baptist Church of Chino Valley -- (Birth to 6th grade)
“Even so, it is not the will of your Father who is in Heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:14 - NKJ
Reaching and equipping the next generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
Provide an emotionally positive environment in which we: a) care for God’s lambs, b) teach God’s Word, c) live the Authority of the Bible, and d) positively influence Faith Walks (i.e., encourage spiritual growth).
INDIVIDUAL MISSION STATEMENTS: “KIDS FIRST”
Provide a safe and caring environment in which to lead children to experience and respond to Jesus’ love.
Provide a safe environment in which children learn and experience the meaning of the elements of a Biblical worship service (Praise & Worship, Biblical lesson, Play & Fellowship, and Prayer).
Provide a safe and friendly environment in which pre-teens learn to experience, understand, and adopt for themselves Christian morals and values, and learn the importance of ‘church’.
Praize Kidz Choir:
Through a vocal musical experience, learn how to make a ‘joyful noise to the Lord’ and share it with the church family.
Kidz Bible Adventure:
Inform the minds and transform the hearts of children by interpreting, contemplating, explaining and applying Biblical truths.
Create a unique and outdoor setting in which children can be immersed in a Christian experience.
Outreach to families in the Community by demonstrating Christ’s unconditional love.
DISCIPLINE POLICY (per incident):
*1st occurrence: Teacher uses incident as a ‘teachable moment’ to educate the child as to an appropriate behavior, using the Fruit of the Spirit as the Teacher’s guide of conduct.
*2nd occurrence: Child is removed from the activity and is taken to the Children’s Ministry Director or a Pastor. Student is given a choice of correcting the behavior and rejoining the group, or be taken to a responsible family member.
*3rd occurrence: Child is taken to their responsible family member and is excused from further participation in the activity for remainder of that day.
