Women’s Missionary Union

Vision Statement: WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of GOD.

We participate in this vision by supporting the following ministries:

1. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (OCC)
This is the primary mission effort supported by WMU and the congregation. Items are donated year-long for the annual shoebox packing day. Shoeboxes have toiletries, school supplies, toys, bible books, candy, etc. Shoeboxes are sent across the world to children with the goal of spreading the love of Jesus. Statistics confirm when a child is saved, most likely the family is as well. The Greatest Journey is a 6 week study plan that teaches children how to become a Christian. This program has been extremely successful.

2. CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER OF PRESCOTT (CPC)
The members of WMU hold a baby shower twice a year. The unwrapped gifts are delivered to the CPC to be included in their closet to be used as needed. WMU also contributes financial support twice a year.

3. CHILDREN IN ACTION (CIA)
This is a mission minded program for children in grades 1 – 6. The goal of this ministry is to teach children about missions and missionaries. What they do, why they do it, and how they do it. The children also do several mission projects throughout the year. The hope is by teaching our young children today, they will continue their interest in missions in the future.

4. SPECIAL MISSION OFFERINGS:
Annie Armstrong. This is a special offering collected during Easter. The offering is given to the North American Mission Board. The offering is used to buy much needed supplies for the missionaries in North America. 100% of this offering is used for the supplies.

Lottie Moon. This offering is collected and given to the International Mission Board. 100% of the offering is used to buy much needed supplies for the International Southern Baptist missionaries who serve in foreign countries.

5. CHRISTMAS COOKIE TRAYS FOR SHUT IN’S:
Members make and prepare trays for delivery during the Christmas Season. A Christmas card signed by WMU accompanies each tray.

Regular Meeting Time & Day: 10:00 am on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month.

Summer Meeting Time & Day: 10:00 am on the FIRST Thursday of each month. (June-July-August) Regular Meetings resume in September.
